I just completed my sixth year as a 4th grade teacher in Yorkville School District 115. I received my bachelor's degree in 2008 from Illinois Wesleyan University and my Master's degree in 2011 from Aurora University. During my master's program, I completed an extensive tutoring internship in which I worked with two students of varying abilities. We worked on word recognition and decoding skills, reading fluency, and comprehension and vocabulary. I have a passion for reading but also enjoy teaching math. My district has been implementing and providing professional development opportunities for the Common Core curriculum for several years.
